Information about our upcoming performance for Giselle and school recital!
Dress rehearsals are at the studio on Fridays, April 24 and May 1 (no makeup necessary, only a skin colored camisole and regular dance attire like comfortable outerwear like leggings or sweatpants).
Rehearsals at the studio generally begin around 4:30 and end around 8:30. We will know specific times closer to the date. Our youngest level will not be required to be at any of the rehearsals as long as the rest of the cast.
Friday, May 8: Rehearsal at South Lakes High School Theater. Rehearsals generally begin around 5:00 p.m. (we will be loading in and setting up prior to that time), and will end at around 9:45. We will know specific times closer to the date.
Friday, May 9: Rehearsal at South Lakes High School Theater. Arrival will be at noon. The matinee performance will be at 3:30.
Tickets will go on sale by the middle of April.
Makeup: Please remember that light makeup does not show up on stage. Students will look washed out and flat without heavier makeup.
At minimum, students should wear foundation that matches their skin tone, use peach or pink blush, a natural color eyeshadow in brown shades, mascara, and true RED lipstick (wine colored or burgundy lipstick does not show up well on stage).

Students in levels 6-8 should wear in depth stage makeup. Please add false eyelashes (Level 6, optional and Level 7-8 mandatory unless you have an issue that does not allow this). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6o9qq-hHAA
Hair: Buns may be made at the mid or high buns are fine! Levels 6 and 7/8 will wear the Giselle bun and here is a tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv9SkxqtiK0
Earrings: NOT Required but encouraged. If your student chooses to wear them they can wear small “diamond” studs or performance earrings:
Skin colored camisole: This is a spaghetti strap leotard that is the color of your student’s skin. They will wear this under their costume. You may order this online or go to a dance supply store such as Cinnamon Tree in Herndon or Barre and Pointe in Leesburg.
