REHEARSAL SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6 at THE THEATER
8:00-10:00 pm for ONLY students in Level 7/8. Please note this was the only time available at the theater for an extra rehearsal. We want all of our upper level students to have the opportunity to run their quick changes between 8:30 and 9:45. They must arrive at 8:00 to help set up their own costumes! They will need to stay until ten to make sure their costumes are properly hung for the next day. Thank you!
PERFORMANCE DAY: DECEMBER 7
12:00 Arrival | (Level 1/2 please arrive 2:00)
All dancers (except Level 1/2) MUST arrive at noon (please honor this time, it is very important we have everyone there on time). As mentioned in an earlier email, the only other dates available for us to do our Nutcracker were over Thanksgiving weekend or over the weekend of Dec 20/21 which is only 3 days before Christmas eve. This is our best option and these were the only dates and times offered. Thank you for your dedication to making this a great ballet!
Makeup: Please remember that light makeup does not show up on stage. Students will look washed out and flat without heavier makeup.
At minimum, students should wear foundation that matches their skin tone, use peach or pink blush, a natural color eyeshadow in brown shades, mascara, and true RED lipstick (wine colored or burgundy lipstick does not show up well on stage).
For those students wanting to do more extensive makeup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4d4De1KRII or see below’s link.
Students in levels 6-8 should wear in depth stage makeup. Please add false eyelashes (Level 6, optional and Level 7-8 mandatory unless you have an issue that does not allow this). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6o9qq-hHAA
Hair: Please do not wear buns too high! Mid-buns are acceptable for Nutcracker.
Earrings: NOT Required. If your student chooses to wear them they can wear small “diamond” studs or performance earrings:
Skin colored camisole: This is a spaghetti strap leotard that is the color of your student’s skin. They will wear this under their costume. You may order this online or go to a dance supply store such as Cinnamon Tree in Herndon or Barre and Pointe in Leesburg. Or you can purchase here:
